Facilities
The Chieftain Inn in Hanover is the home of Black Bear Sculling. The Inn is a beautiful facility. All of the spacious pine-paneled rooms have private baths, air-conditioning, cable TV, telephones, and internet access. Three hearty meals a day will be served at the Inn in the dining room or in the gazebo overlooking the river. The Inn has 1000 feet of waterfront, canoes for exploring the river, and a large heated outdoor swimming pool. Sculling will take place on a beautiful, quiet stretch of the Connecticut River in Hanover, New Hampshire. The river provides many miles of flat, protected water on which to improve sculling and to train.
Other Activities
Aside from the spectacular river views, there is much nature to experience in the region. There are eleven State Parks allowing for hiking, picnicking, swimming and fishing. The Appalachian hiking trail is only a quarter mile from the Inn. The Inn is situated on a major biking route for those enthusiasts. Downtown Hanover and the Campus of Dartmouth College is only 2 miles away, provides many cultural, educational and recreational resources.
