Black Bear Sculling, under the direction of Steve Wagner, offers week long programs in sculling for all ages and abilities on a beautiful Lake Leelanau at Fountain Point Resort in Michigan.
Steve Wagner has built and directed very successful and popular sculling programs for the past 36 years. In our first year in Michigan, Steve has once again assembled an outstanding coaching staff for the 2015 season. Black Bear Sculling is known for providing outstanding coaching in a relaxing, supportive, and fun environment. We have had beginners of all ages as well as many top scullers, from youth to masters in our program.
Fountain Point Resort in Leelanau, Michigan, is the new home of Black Bear Sculling. Fountain Point is the oldest summer resort in Michigan, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Rooms are double occupancy with shared bath, and private bath accommodations and private cottages are available. The grounds are beautiful, with views of Lake Leelanau, a sandy beach, and many other amenities to enjoy between rowing sessions. The food is healthy, plentiful, and one of the many highlights of the program.
The Camp is in the heart of Leelanau County, and there are many great restaurants, shops, and points of interest nearby, including the Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
